My name is Miles Johnson, a 27 year old full-stack back-end and front-end developer. I work full-time out of the beautiful (well, sometimes) city of Los Angeles and spend most of my spare time developing exciting open-source libraries.

When I'm not face down in my keyboard, I like to be as active as possible. This includes traveling, weight training, hiking, playing sports, waring in paintball, swimming, what have you.

Interested In

I currently specialize in PHP, Laravel, HTML5, CSS3, Sass, and jQuery. However, I have dabbled in Java, Python, MooTools, CakePHP, Node.js, and a slew of other popular technologies. I rather enjoy the current technology stack I work in as it allows for unlimited amounts of creativity. The fact that these languages are constantly changing with new features and functionality being added yearly, simply makes web development too fun.

On The Outside

Milesj.me can best be described as a mash-up of various web development and technology related interests. I like to write about open-source projects, whether it be of my own creation, or an external vendor. With the ever increasing popularity of new web technology, having a personal website dedicated to such things is a great way to stay ahead.

Behind The Scenes

Hosted by MediaTemple, powered by PHP 5.4 and CakePHP, running on a dedicated (ve) Ubuntu 12.10 box, with nginx as the server layer, and MySQL as the database layer.

Utilizes Sass for CSS processing, MooTools for Javascript framework scaffolding, Titon for UI presentation, Prism for code syntax highlighting, and Font Awesome for icons.
